Adelphi University has announced the appointment of Dr. Lauren Mounty as Vice President for Enrollment Management and Student Success. Dr. Mounty, who currently serves as Dean of the School for Global and Professional Programs at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY. Dr. Mounty will join the Adelphi community on May 1, 2013. As Adelphi's vice president for enrollment management and student success, Dr. Mounty will lead a team of more than 275 employees, overseeing the University's admissions, financial aid, public safety, student affairs, career services and athletics operations. Reporting to President Scott, she will serve as a member of the University's senior staff and will interact with the University's Board of Trustees, especially the Student Life and Finance and Administration Committees.
A. Brian Leander has been named assistant director at the Long Island Center for Nonprofit Leadership located at Adelphi University in Garden City. He was senior planning consultant at the Institute for Organizational Leadership in Jasper, Ga.
Adelphi University announced the appointment of Mitchell Nagler '05 M.A., LMHC as Assistant Director of the Student Counseling Center/Director of the Bridges to Adelphi Program. Mr. Nagler is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and brings a wealth of experience in administration and in working with people with Asperger's Syndrome, Autism, Social Anxiety Disorders and other nonverbal learning disabilities. Before this, Mr. Nagler was the Director of the Adelphi Social Training Center. Mr. Nagler is primarily responsible for overseeing The Bridges to Adelphi Program, which falls under the administration of the Student Counseling Center, where he supervises five graduate students who deliver the majority of the Program's services, and provides Program services to ten other students. He also spearheads interactions with the campus community and works to increase campus awareness and training through workshops, in addition to managing community outreach to local school districts and related organizations. Mr. Nagler interacts with the Program's 50 students on a daily basis, assisting them with any issues they may have, advocating for them, and providing a 'safe haven.
