Honeywell Specialty Materials, LLC reported unaudited earnings results for second quarter and six months ended June 30, 2011. For the quarter, the company reported net sales of $1.4 billion against $1.3 billion for same period a year ago. Segment profit for the period was $281 million against $214 million for same period a year ago. Sales were up 12% compared with the second quarter of 2010, resulting from improved global end markets, commercial excellence, and new product applications in the Advanced Materials business, coupled with strong UOP growth. Segment profit was up 31% due to higher sales and licensing revenues, commercial excellence, and cost productivity, partially offset by raw material inflation. For the six months, the company reported net sales of $2.8 billion against $2.4 billion for same period a year ago. Segment profit for the period was $565 million against $384 million for same period a year ago.
