A University of Missouri professor has been named president - elect of the American College of Physicians. David Fleming, professor of internal medicine and director of the Center for Health Ethics at the MU School of Medicine since its inception in 2001, began his one-year term as president-elect from April 11, 2013 during the ACP's annual scientific meeting in San Francisco. He will serve as the group's president from 2014 to 2015.
The American College of Physicians (ACP) and Consumer Reports announced a new collaborative effort to create a series of High Value Care resources to help patients understand the benefits, harms, and costs of tests and treatments for common clinical issues. The resources will be derived from ACP's evidence-based clinical practice recommendations published in Annals of Internal Medicine.
