Blackstone, Pátria In Talks To Acquire AlphaVille Urbanismo

The Blackstone Group L.P. (NYSE:BX) and its partner Pátria Investimentos Ltda are in talks with Gafisa S.A. (BOVESPA:GFSA3) to acquire its AlphaVille Urbanismo S.A. Gafisa acknowledged talks with Blackstone and Patria, among other potential buyers, in a regulatory filing last week, following reports by the local press. A deal could be announced soon, according to a person familiar with the negotiations. Alphaville Urbanismo will likely be sold for some BRL 2 billion, the person added. Negotiations over Alphaville continued to advance this week and the companies are now discussing contract terms, according to the same person. The sale process for Alphaville has also attracted Equity International, but they have been outbid by Blackstone and Patria, the person confirmed. Equity International declined to comment. Spokespeople for Gafisa, Blackstone and Patria declined to comment to Dow Jones. Shares of Gafisa, fell 2.5% to BRL 3.91.
