Millhouse Capital Reportedly Eyeing Hypo Alpe-Adria Assets

Millhouse Capital UK Limited is planning to bid for Hypo Alpe-Adria-Bank a.d.’s asset. The company is reportedly preparing to pay €500 million for lender Alpe-Adria-Bank’s Balkans network. Reuters reported citing sources as saying that Millhouse has said that the deal would help protect Austrian taxpayers by providing €1 billion in guarantees for loans Hypo had made, and that it intends to keep the Balkans business intact. A Bulgarian-Russian consortium backed by JSC VTB Bank (LSE:VTBR) was also said to be interested.

Hypo Group Alpe - Adria Reports Earnings Results for the First Half of 2014

Hypo Group Alpe - Adria reported earnings results for the first half of 2014. For the period, net profit was BAM 1.3 million from a net loss of BAM 717,300 a year earlier. The bank's first-half net interest income fell to BAM 15.7 million from BAM 16 million a year earlier, as net fee and provision income decreased to BAM 5.4 million from BAM 6.2 million in the first half of 2013.

Corporate Commercial Bank No More A bidder For Hypo Alpe-Adria

Corporate Commercial Bank AD (BUL:6C9) has withdrawn from the consortium with JSC VTB Bank (LSE:VTBR) that was bidding for southeastern European network of Hypo Alpe-Adria-Bank a.d. The main bidders for the network are the Russian consortium, a group of Bulgarian investors headed by Denis Barekov and tie up of Advent International Corporation and The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. A spokesperson for Hypo Alpe-Adria-Bank a.d. refused to comment on the participants in the tender but said that the talks with potential investors had reached an advanced stage.
