Baum's career in the food, beverage and CPG industry spans more than 25 years. He is recognized among the foremost experts in the management of strategy, sales, marketing and merchandising activities in the food, beverage, consumer products and retail industries.

Food Marketing Institute Names Josh Katz as Director of Food Safety Programs

Food Marketing Institute announced Josh Katz, Ph.D. as its new director of Food Safety Programs. Katz will be instrumental in the development and implementation of food safety initiatives, critical to the retail community. He will report to Hilary Thesmar, Ph.D., RD, the institute's vice president of food safety programs. Katz's most recent work includes earning his doctorate at University of California Davis in nutritional biology, specializing in human health risk assessment. Prior to earning his degree, Katz spent eight years in the food safety assessment industry, first with The Steritech Group and then with Davis Fresh Technologies.
