Help/Systems Announces Release of Robot/CONSOLE Version 5.25
Oct 8 13
Robot, a division of Help/Systems, announced the release of Robot/CONSOLE Version 5.25, which enables an instance of Robot/CONSOLE to exist on an independent auxiliary storage pool (IASP), allowing uninterrupted resource and message monitoring in the event of a disaster. The update came in response to the growing demand for applications with the ability to move with other IASP applications in high availability environments. IBM's PowerHA hardware-level replication solution for high availability also drove the decision, as it requires that replicated data be stored in an IASP. The latest version of Robot/CONSOLE allows users to install or upgrade directly into an IASP alongside their IASP-aware software, as well as have their Robot/CONSOLE installation move with their IASP when resorting to their failover box. Robot/SCHEDULE job scheduler software from Help/Systems has supported IASP since version 10, including the ability to run in an IASP. With the latest version of Robot/CONSOLE, Help/Systems continues to develop solutions that enable its customers to take advantage of PowerHA, including real-time mirroring, saving time on backups, and keeping downtime to a minimum.
Help/Systems LLC Allows Cone Drive(TM) to Reach 100% Automated IT Operations
Sep 19 13
Help/Systems LLC announced that Cone Drive redefined the role of their computer operator after automating their IBM i operations with Robot systems management software. Cone Drive initially sought help from Robot to manage a material requirements planning run that was overwhelming their operator with messages about job conflicts. Their solution began with message monitoring tool, Robot/ALERT, and it wasn't long before they added Robot/SCHEDULE, followed by Robot/REPLAY, for complex jobs with dynamic fields and to rebuild their test environment weekly. Since implementing Robot software, Cone Drive has moved from 60% to 100% automated. The Robot products automatically escalate their messages and deliver alerts to any device, afford them flexibility in scheduling complex jobs, and provide documentation for their complete job history, which has delighted SOX auditors.
