Janet Wiley, vice president for development and alumni affairs at Goucher College in Baltimore, has been named the new vice president of advancement at Lebanon Valley College after an extensive national search. Wiley is a 1980 graduate of Gettysburg College who brings more than 13 years of development experience to LVC. She will begin her duties on January 14, 2013. Wiley first joined Goucher as executive director of development in 2007. She was quickly promoted to interim vice president then vice president for development and alumni affairs in 2008.

Lebanon Valley College's board of trustees has elected Dr. Lewis Evitts Thayne as the college's 18th president. Thayne, who has served as vice president of advancement at Franklin & Marshall College in Lancaster for the past seven years, will begin on August 1, 2012. The current president, Stephen C. MacDonald, announced last May that he would retire after the completed school year. Thayne also served on a variety of campus-wide committees that dealt with diverse issues such as strategic planning, Middle States accreditation, campus master planning, and marketing and external relations. Before arriving at F&M, Thayne served as vice president for institutional advancement at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, Ga., from 1999 to 2005.
