The CBORD Group, Inc. Key Developments
The CBORD Group, Inc. announced new enhancements to NetNutrition(R) that support QR code access to nutrition and allergen information. A QR (quick response) code is a type of two-dimensional bar code that can be read by a smartphone, typically linking to a URL. NetNutrition Easily Displays Nutrition Labels for Menu Items on Mobile Devices: CBORD's NetNutrition is an online software solution that lets customers view menu offerings, identify possible allergens or food intolerances, select diet preferences (e.g. vegan, kosher, sustainable), and analyze the nutritional content of meals. This latest enhancement gives customers the ability to scan QR codes to immediately view nutrition labels for specific items or directly access menus within NetNutrition. QR codes can be placed on labels for pre-packaged items or on signage in dining locations. Codes posted throughout a food court or cafe can link the customer to the daily menu, along with an interactive nutritional calculator and allergen filter. NetNutrition's support of QR codes makes it simple for customers to plan and build their meals from the convenience of their mobile devices. Any changes to ingredients, recipes, or menus will be reflected in NetNutrition without needing to edit or replace the QR codes.
