Building upon its leadership position in 4K, Crestron is demonstrating a full lineup of DigitalMedia 4K products at CEDIA EXPO 2014 in Denver, September 11–13, booth #150. The new DM 4K products round out the AV industry’s first and only end-to-end 4K certified distribution system. In addition to price reductions driving sales of 4K TVs in the consumer market, DirectTV® also recently announced it will be setup to deliver 4K Video on Demand by the end of this year, and will be ready to stream live 4K content as soon as 2015. Crestron Introduced DigitalMedia(TM) 4K Receiver and Room Controller in a Single-Gang Box. Facilitating connection of 4K display devices, DM-RMC-4K-100-C-1G in-wall DigitalMedia (DM®) receiver and room controller provides signal interface and control solution for single HD or 4K display device as part of complete DM system. Single wire interface, designed for minimal visibility, connects unit to DM switcher or transmitter or to HDBaseT source for transporting video, audio, control, networking, and power signals. HDMI® output, RS-232, and IR control ports are standard.
Extron Electronics Files Patent Infringement Lawsuit Against Crestron Electronics, Inc

Extron Electronics announced that it has filed a federal lawsuit in the United States District Court for the Central District of California against Crestron Electronics, Inc. for infringement of Extron's US Patent No. 8,740,127 entitled 'Cable Retractor'. Extron is represented in the lawsuit by its longstanding intellectual property counsel, Gary Hecker of The Hecker Law Group of Los Angeles, California. The Extron Cable Retractor patent relates to a cable retraction and management system designed to work with cable access enclosures. Crestron's retractor products accused of infringing Extron's Cable Retractor patent include Crestron's cable retractor models CBLR-HD, CBLR-VGA, CBLR-AUDIO, CBLR-USB, and CBLR-CAT5E, which the federal complaint alleges implement Extron's patented technology.
