Manipal Education and Medical Group (MEMG) International India Pvt. Ltd. want to buy back its stake from the existing investors. Vineetha Athrey of CNBC-TV18 reported that MEMG is in advanced talks to acquire its stakes from IDFC Private Equity and Capital International, Inc. Manipal plans to raise INR 12.5 billion to fund this buyout. MEMG wants to buyout stakes from PremjiInvest and Catamaran Investment Pvt Ltd as well. However, it is believed that since these two investors came on board only 2 to 3 years ago, they may not be keen to exit MEMG.

Tata Capital Limited, Aditya Birla Private Equity and PremjiInvest are seeking to acquire 10% stake in Star Health and Allied Insurance Company Limited. The private equity arms may value INR 20 billion, said people familiar with the matter. According to sources, Star Health will issue fresh shares worth INR 1.5 billion to the preferred suitor. Jagannathan, Managing Director of Star Health was unavailable for immediate comments, The Times of India said.

HealthCare Global Enterprises Limited is said to be seeking a merger with Medica Synergie Pvt Ltd in a deal estimated at INR 3 billion. The managements of both the hospitals said they were exploring strategic partnerships. They, however, refused to comment on the merger. IVEN Medicare is expected to exit in the merger. Milestone Religare Investment Advisors is another investor in HCG, while IDFC Private Equity and Evolvence Capital, Private Equity had earlier invested in the company. Milestone Religare is also said to be exiting HCG in this deal. However, it is still unclear if PremjiInvest will invest more in HCG, or whether a new fund would step in.
