Brien Lewis, who led a $35 million fund raising effort as a vice president at Winthrop University, was named as president at Catawba College. Lewis will take the position in April 2012, replacing Joseph Oxendine, who has been serving as interim president of the Salisbury school. Lewis was a Morehead Scholar at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and the first Canadian to serve as student body president.
