RealD Inc. Files Patent Lawsuits against MasterImage 3D and Volfoni over RealD Cinema System Intellectual Property Rights

RealD Inc. filed separate patent lawsuits in the United States District Court for the Central District of California against MasterImage 3D for their MI-Horizon3D products, and Volfoni for their SmartCrystal Diamond product. These lawsuits contend that MasterImage3D and Volfoni are infringing on RealD XL Cinema System intellectual property rights with their respective products.
Cinemaxx Selects MasterImage 3D for Rollout of 3D Screens in Indonesia

MasterImage 3D announced a partnership with Cinemaxx to provide 3D cinema systems for Cinemaxx's rollout of cineplexes across Indonesia. Cinemaxx, the latest addition to Lippo Group's entertainment business, will expand the film exhibition industry in Indonesia by opening over 1,000 new screens over the next five years with 3D a prominent component of that experience. Cinemaxx will install its first MasterImage 3D systems in June 2014. Cinemaxx selected MasterImage 3D for the premium quality of MI-HORIZON3D digital cinema system, recognized for providing bright 3D without sacrificing image quality. MI-HORIZON3D uses a three-beam optical system that eliminates discrepancies between pass-through light and reflected light to create high-brightness 3D with greater clarity and uniformity than two-way beam systems.
