Direct Energy is now providing competitive natural gas supply services to business customers in the San Diego Gas & Electric service territory, which serves approximately 3 million people in San Diego and southern Orange counties in California. With increased competition providing opportunities for customers to choose their supplier and realize better gas pricing, business customers now have an attractive new choice from one of North America's large integrated energy companies. More specifically, Direct Energy will offer business customers served by SDGE a suite of fixed and index products, which may provide competitive savings off the SDGE utility rate for gas supply. Direct Energy's entry into the SDGE service territory expands its California footprint for retail gas service. The company already has a strong and established presence in California serving commercial and industrial customers with electric products as well as energy services through its Clockwork Brands.

Direct Energy is expanding the company's footprint in Arizona with a new, comprehensive call center, which will play an important role in the company's growth. With the new call center to be located in Tempe, Direct Energy will expand its Phoenix regional base and employ an additional 250 to 300 people, creating new jobs in the Greater Phoenix region. Direct Energy will move into the new facility in February. The company expects the call center to be fully functional by the end of the first quarter of 2013.
