General Dynamics Armament And Technical Products, Inc. to Make Another Round of Local Job Cuts
Nov 4 13
General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products Inc. alerted the state of Ohio that it will make another round of job cuts at the start of 2014. The company filed a notice under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, revealing 23 terminations at its facility in Springboro. In its statement to the Ohio Department of Job & Family Services, the company blamed the move on a decline in work from its principal customers. The Warren County facility makes precision metal components for military munitions programs. In its notice, General Dynamics said the layoff will start on January 2, 2014, and both union (Local 141) and nonunion employees are impacted. A company spokeswoman was not immediately available to comment on how many employees will remain active at the plant. The move follows a similar layoff of 31 workers announced in August.
