Grocery Manufacturers Association announced the appointment of Karin F.R. Moore as vice president and general counsel. Moore joins GMA from the Wine and Spirits Wholesalers of America (WSWA) where she was vice president and co-general counsel. At WSWA, her responsibilities included coordinating the associations national litigation strategy, advising on regulatory issues facing wholesalers at both the state and federal levels, and serving on WSWAs senior management team.
Michael Gruber a senior policy adviser in the House Energy and Commerce Committee has joined the Grocery Manufacturers Association. Michael Gruber will serve as vice president of federal affairs at GMA. When he begins Oct. 1, Gruber will be responsible for advocacy and all federal policy issues involving food, beverage and consumer products, according to the announcement. He also has acted as a liaison to the Congressional Budget Office and the House Budget Committee. Before joining the committee, Gruber was chief of staff and an appropriations adviser for Rep.
Grocery Manufacturers Association announced the appointment of Elise Fennig as vice president, industry affairs. The addition of Elise Fennig strengthens the associations ability to foster growth and value chain efficiency through greater collaboration among retailers, manufacturers and suppliers. Fennig comes to GMA from the American Frozen Food Institute (AFFI), where she developed a strong reputation as a leader for her role managing the Institutes public and industry affairs initiatives. She most recently served as vice president of member services at AFFI. In addition, Fennig served as executive director of the Frozen Food Foundation. In her new position, Fennig will direct and manage GMAs industry affairs initiatives and projects within the supply chain management and technology, sales and sales promotion and industry performance practice areas. She will report to Sean McBride, senior vice president, communications and marketing, and will begin her new assignment on October 1, 2012.
