Kaltura Unveils its Cutting Edge End-to-End OTT TV Solution

Kaltura unveiled Kaltura OTT TV, its next-generation, end-to-end pay OTT TV solution. The result of integrating pay OTT technology from the company’s recent acquisition of Tvinci with Kaltura’s video platform. It includes advanced monetization, social and personalization features; innovative tools for improving user acquisition and retention; and multi-screen, multi-device support. Kaltura will be demonstrating its OTT TV solution at IBC 2014 (12-16 September) in Amsterdam on Stand 3.67. Kaltura OTT TV’s monetization tools allow different business models to be used simultaneously, providing service providers maximum flexibility. The tools support server-side and native ad insertion technology for live and VOD content, in-app purchases, a range of payment options and discounts for introducing friends. DRM support provides full content protection. The monetization tools are designed to deliver a seamless experience across devices. By allowing each viewer in the household to set up an individual profile, the service delivers a personalized experience, helping increase subscribers engagement while giving service providers a better understanding of their behavior to improve loyalty and maximize revenues. Kaltura OTT TV provides a consistent cross-device experience that allows users to take their favorite content wherever they go and intuitively interact between screens with TV control, content “swooshing” from one device to another, and synched second-screen metadata. The new social features allow users to log in to their TV service using Facebook to engage with friends and receive recommendations based on what their community is watching. It includes an activity feed on the home page and abuzz meter makes it easy to see what is popular at any time, and an EPG for live or catch-up viewing. The household “parent” account can decide which members of the household can access content on specific devices and can set VOD budgets per user. Kaltura OTT TV can be installed on-premise or hosted in the cloud. It can also be deployed out of the box, or can be customized by a service provider to a granular level and integrated with additional components and systems. Kaltura OTT TV is comprised of four core modules: MediaPrep, MediaHub, MediaStore and MediaGo: Kaltura MediaPrep lets service providers easily prepare and edit content using the Kaltura Workflow Manager and Transcoding module. Additionally the video files can be encrypted for a multi-DRM solution, which guarantees a seamless cross-device user experience without compromising content protection. Kaltura MediaHub provides comprehensive management tools for content, packaging, business rules, campaigns, devices, geo-services, DRM, subscribers and analytics. Kaltura MediaStore offers the richest UX feature set on the market, allowing subscribers to manage passwords, PINs, parental controls, devices and billing information via the web; they can also benefit from notification management, companion mode, as well as search and recommendations. Kaltura Launches REACH Accessibility Suite

Named Kaltura REACH, the new product's functionality includes captioning, transcription and translation services, in-video and cross-library search and discovery, deep-linking capabilities, as well as metadata and keyword extraction.
