Sunshine Seeks Joint Venture

Sunshine Oilsands Ltd. (SEHK:2012) is looking for financing. The company has extended joint venture agreement with Sinopec International Petroleum Exploration & Production Corporation for financing West Ells thermal project. John Zahary, President and CEO of Sunshine said, “What they wanted at the time was the opportunity to sit down with us and look at negotiating a joint venture. That process has been ongoing.” The agreement due to expire at the end of 2013 is now extended to December 31, 2014. Sunshine needs about $300 million to finish the first two 5,000-bpd phases at West Ells, its first project. Construction has been suspended since August and seasonality of work in northern Alberta could cause further delays and higher costs, he added. Sunshine was down by half a penny at 24.5 cent on November 21, 2013.

Sunshine Oilsands Ltd. announced the extension of the non-binding Memorandum of Understanding for Strategic Cooperation entered into between Sunshine and Sinopec International Petroleum Exploration and Production Corporation. The extension of the MOU, signed on November 20, 2013, extends the expiry date of the MOU from December 31, 2013 to December 31, 2014 and maintains the general principles and main clauses of the MOU as disclosed in the Prospectus. The strategic cooperation is subject to the entering into of binding agreements. The Board wishes to emphasize that such binding agreement may or may not proceed. Shareholders and potential investors are urged to exercise caution when dealing in the securities of the Corporation.
Apache Corporation and Sinopec International Petroleum Exploration and Production Corporation Enter Upstream Oil and Gas Partnership

Apache Corporation and Sinopec International Petroleum Exploration and Production Corporation announced they have launched a global strategic partnership to pursue joint upstream oil and gas projects. As the first step in this partnership, Apache will receive $3.1 billion in cash, subject to customary closing adjustments, in exchange for Sinopec gaining a 33% minority participation in Apache's Egypt oil and gas business. Apache will continue to operate its Egypt upstream oil and gas business.
