Middle East Communication Networks Announces Management Changes

The Middle East Communication Network (MCN) has appointed Chris Skinner as the new regional managing director of UM MENA. He replaces Paul Katrib, who had been leading UM MENA for the past three years. It is understood that he will be moving on to pursue other professional projects. Skinner joins UM MENA after a six-year tenure at IPG's Mediabrands in Hong Kong, where he successfully led UM and Initiative as managing director and led integrated campaigns for The Coca-Cola Group, Boots International, Cathay Pacific, Exxon Mobil, MasterCard, CNN International and Microsoft, amongst others. His leadership and creativity also saw the Hong Kong offices win 30 inter- national awards, a highlight being the two silver Cannes Lions for Coca- Cola Chok. Cheil has named Hadley Newman as MENA regional director for its experiential department. The appointment is part of Cheil's commitment to its integrated offering by seeking the best talent from across the industry. Newman is an experiential specialist with more than 12 years of experience in the communications industry, he has worked on brands such as du, Mastercard Worldwide, Qatari Diar and Emaar Properties with a focus on live communications ranging from exhibitions, major events and launches, through to digital activity and sponsorship activation. Hadley joins Cheil from MMG Publicis, where he oversaw the strategic development and delivery of live communications projects for various clients from the Qatar office. In his new role, Newman will grow Cheil's experiential department by aligning its strategies with the agency's philosophy for 'Ideas that Move'.
