SITA Signs 10-Year Agreement with Biman Bangladesh Airlines

Biman Bangladesh Airlines has signed a 10-year agreement with SITA to transform and manage its infrastructure as it prepares to double its passenger numbers. Under the multi-million dollar agreement, SITA will upgrade Biman’s global network and operational messaging and harness the power of the Air Transport Industry (ATI) Cloud to transform its workspace, helping the airline achieve substantial savings. SITA will also provision infrastructure at the airline’s global locations and deploy a new PABX with enhanced functionality at Biman’s offices in Dhaka, which will be integrated into the airline’s call center. In addition, SITA will offer flexible, on-demand IT services and industry software through the ATI Cloud. The ATI Cloud will deliver a comprehensive suite of standard and ATI applications, specifically adapted to the airline’s needs, to any location and any device. It will also create efficiencies across data, servers and applications, contributing to operational cost savings. As part of the 10-year deal, Biman will introduce SITA’s CrewTablet, which will enable its crew members to use tablets integrated with its business applications to enhance inflight services to customers.
SITA Delivers Increased Productivity to Rafic Hariri Beirut International Airport

SITA has been selected by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation Authority (DGCA) and the Lebanese flag-carrier Middle East Airlines-Air Liban (MEA) to provide airport services at Rafic Hariri Beirut International Airport for the next five years. The new system, which meets the latest industry common use passenger processing systems (CUPPS) standards, will be used at 168 workstations at the check-in areas, boarding gates, baggage hall, transit desk, VIP lounge and lost and found area, while there are WorldTracer kiosks near the lost and found office.
SITA Announces Major Partnership for Innovation with Changi Airport Group

SITA announced a major partnership for innovation with Changi Airport Group (CAG). The project was implemented in a record five months in which both organizations collaborated to introduce the passenger processing and self-service technology in close cooperation with airline and ground handling partners. SITA's Airport iValidate technology, which is part of SITA's wider business intelligence and passenger flow management solution at Changi, automatically verifies passengers' paper and mobile bar-coded boarding passes to better facilitate the flow of passengers through airport security.
