Bahrain Airport Services Selects Sita to Automate Staff Rostering and Allocation at Bahrain International Airport

Bahrain Airport Services selected SITA to automate staff rostering and allocation at Bahrain International Airport in a new five-year deal. The company said its resource management system will help the ground handler achieve increased efficiency and productivity of airport staff. The company is providing BAS with a complete end-to-end solution that connects employees on the move and their mobile devices with back office systems. This ensures the ground handler can make decisions as needs change for more effective use of resources.

SITA's Passenger System Delivers Smooth Star Alliance Entry for Air India

SITA announced that it has successfully enabled Air India to comply with the technical requirements to join the Star Alliance. Air India is the first Indian carrier to join a global airline alliance opening the way for increased business opportunities for the airline. SITAs Passenger Services System, Horizon, is designed to be compliant with the leading global alliances and this, combined with SITAs industry expertise and the teams agility, meant that the requirements at Air India were met in record time. SITA ensured the exact Star Alliance standards and airline expectations were met. This included upgrading processes to match those of the 26 existing Star Alliance partners. The ability to provide technology compliance with the Star Alliances requirements demonstrates SITAs position as a leading PSS supplier that is ready to meet the needs of airlines seeking to join any global alliance.

Garuda Indonesia Selects SITA to Support Transformation in New Five-Year Deal

Garuda Indonesia has selected air transport IT specialist, SITA, to fully manage its international network infrastructure, standardize IT operations including its domestic IT infrastructure, and facilitate quick migration to its new reservation system. The new five-year agreement will simplify Garuda’s information technology, while supporting its “Quantum Leap” transformation program as Indonesia prepares to welcome 100 million passengers by 2015. SITA’s unique network offering has a footprint in more than 220 countries and offers shared infrastructure at over 300 airports, including SITA’s community approach to operational messaging. Under the new agreement, SITA will extend its current role from managing Garuda’s international network to also managing its domestic network, including some domestic airports. It will also include handling domestic infrastructure vendors, providing end-user computing services and managing operational messaging. This, in turn, will simplify the airline’s administration and billing, provide substantial cost savings, and ensure all end users globally benefit from the same high level of reliability and performance.
