Turkish Airlines Selects SITA to Provide Telecommunications Services

Turkish Airlines selected SITA to provide telecommunications services for 120 outstations around the world in a multi-million dollar renewal deal. SITA will act as the airlines sole network services provider globally for seven more years, connecting the airlines outstations, departure control systems and passenger service systems to facilitate efficient passenger processing and on-time departures. Turkish Airlines will also benefit from Express IP and SITAs Integrated Performance Reporting Service, a single intelligent monitoring tool, which will allow the airline to see all its networks at the same time. All network services will be fully supported by SITAs global customer service team, which includes more than 2,000 dedicated aviation IT specialists and engineers in over 200 countries and territories.
Vistara Selects SITA for Aircraft Communications and Network Infrastructure

Vistara signed an agreement with air transport IT specialist, SITA, for aircraft communications, airline operations and network connectivity. The agreement includes SITAs air-to-ground airline operations and datalink service, flight briefing services to help plan routes that reduce operational costs, and a comprehensive network solution connecting Vistaras ground operations for critical passenger services. Vistara will use SITAs integrated suite of aircraft communications and airline operations services to effectively manage air-to-ground communications among the flight crew, airline operations and air traffic controllers. SITAs VHF network will provide the connectivity for these services. The airline will use SITAs global IP Network to connect its back offices, ticketing desks and check-in counters at an initial10 airports across India with its passenger services system, based in Germany. The scalable network has been designed to support Vistaras future expansion in India. In addition, Vistara has subscribed to SITAs Type B messaging service the industrys message distribution service for critical air transport industry operational messages. Vistara is SITAs first Flight Briefing customer in India. SITA Flight Briefing will provide the airline with computerized flight plans and data such as inflight weather updates and airport information so they can plan routes that reduce operational costs, improve on-time performance, and facilitate safer and smoother flights by avoiding major weather events.
