BNY Mellon Wealth Management has named Jon Soto as new managing director of portfolio management for the Florida East region. In his new role, Soto will manage all the portfolio management teams in Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Boca Raton and Miami, according to Bank Investment Consultant. Additionally, he will also work with his counterparts on Florida's West Coast to strengthen the firm's client satisfaction and retention rates. Soto, who joined BNY Mellon in 2008, has served as portfolio management team leader in Fort Lauderdale since 2012. Soto has joined BNY Mellon from super-regional bank, where he served as senior vice president and managing director at its Miami-Dade County wealth management office.

BNY Mellon Wealth Management has appointed Clare McCoy as new wealth director for business development in its Madison, N.J. office. Based in New Jersey, McCoy will report to managing director Katia Friend who heads sales efforts for the firm's New York Tri-State region. In his new role, McCoy will be responsible for expanding the firm's sales and wealth management teams in key US wealth markets. Prior to joining BNY Mellon, McCoy most recently served as a vice president and client advisor at PNC Bank in Monmouth County, N.J. Earlier to this, she also served as a senior vice president in sales with Bank of America (Fleet Bank) in Boston, Mass managing high-net-worth client relationships.

BNY Mellon Wealth Management has expanded its business development in New York, Chicago, San Francisco and Philadelphia by making six new senior hires. BNY Mellon has appointed two senior directors for business development in New York. James Horvath, formerly a senior vice president at Atlantic Asset Management, will oversee BNY Mellon's nonprofit wealth management practice in New York, while Michael Puleio, a small business specialist and financial advisor previously with MetLife, will be responsible for developing business in the greater New York, New Jersey Tri-State region. Additionally, BNY Mellon has added three senior directors of business development to its family office services group, where Margaret O'Leary joined the group in San Francisco while Kelly Mullaney Dean and Thomas Smith joined in Chicago. Furthermore, BNY Mellon appointed Belin Robertson as a senior director for business development to its wealth management team in Philadelphia. Christopher Benson, a former portfolio manager and senior investment consultant at Northern Trust, has appointed as a senior portfolio manager in Denver.
