Mega First Corp. Bhd Announces Tariff MoU with EDL for Don Sahong Hydropower Project

Mega First Corp. Bhd announced that the company and Electricite Du Laos have agreed to the main principles and mutual understanding on the key commercial terms under which a power purchase agreement, or PPA, would be finalized for the future purchase of hydroelectric power to be generated by the Don Sahong project. Under the memorandum of understanding signed by the parties and dated 30 September 2013 ('Tariff MoU'), the parties agreed that the key commercial terms and fundamental principles agreed in the Tariff MoU shall form the basis for the negotiation of a PPA between EDL and MFCB as the Lead Sponsor, for the sale of all electric energy generated by the Don Sahong Project to the EDL Grid System via the 230 kV transmission line between the Project's switchyard and the Ban Hat sub-station. The Company received the signed Tariff MoU on 14 October 2013. The Tariff MoU is not subject to the approval of the shareholders of MFCB or any relevant regulatory authorities of Malaysia.

Gazprom Marketing and Trading Singapore and Electricite Du Laos Clinch Contract for Crediting Quotas for CO2 Emissions

Gazprom Marketing and Trading Singapore and Electricite du Laos have clinched a contract for crediting quotas for CO2 emissions. Under the agreement, GM&TS will purchase the certified emission reductions generated by EdL's Nam Khan 2 Project. The estimated volume of CERs is 312,290 tCO2 per year from 2016 to 2020 and these emission reductions are the result of EdL's investment in a new hydro power plant, the Nam Khan 2 Project. The project, once commissioned in 2015, will lead to generating an output of 568,700 MWh power per annum from 2016.

VLV-PESTECH JV and Electricite Du Laos to Undertake the Feasibility Studies on the Execution of 115kV Transmission Line Project

The MOU entered into between VLV Soumpholphakdy Sole Co. Ltd. and Pestech Sdn. Bhd JV (VLV-PESTECH JV) and Electricite Du Laos to undertake the feasibility studies on the execution of 115kV transmission line project from Pakse, Lao People's Democratic Republic (Lao PDR) to Lao-Thai border for power supply connection from the hydro power plants located in Saravanh, a Southern Province of Lao PDR to Thailand, the Board of Directors inform that VLV-PESTECH JV had submitted a proposal to EDL for the Project on 6 November 2012. The proposal is currently under review and negotiation.
