CNA Analysis & Solutions announced the hiring of Pearl Mihara to serve as the not-for-profit research and analysis organization's vice president of Human Resources (HR). Mihara, formerly senior vice president of HR for Engility in Alexandria, VA, will report to CNA Chief Operating Officer Dr. Katherine McGrady. As CNA's vice president of HR, Mihara has leadership and operating management responsibility for all HR and organizational effectiveness affairs, including employment/recruitment, compensation, employee relations, training and development. At Engility (formerly L-3 MPRI), Mihara provided leadership and direction over a 24-person human resources department supporting a workforce that included 1,000 domestic and 1,200 global employees operating in more than 20 countries.
CNA Analysis & Solutions announced that it promoted two of its senior analysts to its Center for Naval Analyses leadership team. Keith M. Costa, Ph.D., is vice president and director of CNA Advanced Technology and Systems Analysis; and Eric V. Thompson, Ph.D., is vice president and director of CNA Strategic Studies. Costa, who joined the company in 1990 as a member of the Anti-submarine Warfare Department, as it was then known, most recently directed ATSA's Expeditionary Systems and Support Team. Thompson, who joined the company in 1999, is a specialist on Middle East political and military affairs and has worked with U.S. and regional military and civilian leaders in North Africa, the Arabian Gulf, and the Levant.
CNA Analysis & Solutions announced that Adm. Gary Roughead, recently retired Chief of Naval Operations, and Dr. Daniel Domenech, Executive Director of the American Association of School Administrators and former superintendent of Fairfax County Virginia public schools, have joined its Board of Trustees. Roughead served as the 29th Chief of Naval Operations from Sep. 29, 2007 to Sep. 23, 2011, when he retired from active duty after 38 years of service. He is one of only two officers to have commanded the Pacific and Atlantic fleets, commanding the U.S. Pacific Fleet and Joint Task Force 519, as well as U.S. Fleet Forces Command, where he was responsible for ensuring Navy forces were trained, ready, equipped and prepared to operate around the world. Daniel A. Domenech, Ph.D. has served as executive director of the American Association of School Administrators (AASA) since July 2008. Before joining AASA, he was a senior vice president with McGraw-Hill Education and prior to that served for seven years as superintendent of public schools for Fairfax County.
