China United Network Communications Corporation Limited (CUCL), a subsidiary of China Unicom (Hong Kong) Limited, will launch the issue of the second tranche of promissory note for the year 2014 of an amount of RMB 5 billion on 10 July 2014. CUCL will launch the issue of the second tranche of promissory note for the year 2014 on 10 July 2014. The issue will be completed on 14 July 2014. The final coupon rate will be announced separately upon completion of the issue.

On 27 June 2014, China Unicom (Hong Kong) Limited was notified by its ultimate parent company, China United Network Communications Group Company Limited, that, on 27 June 2014, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China (MIIT) has approved Unicom Parent to conduct the TD-LTE/LTE FDD hybrid network trial in 16 cities including Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Chongqing, Zhengzhou, Wuhan, Chengdu, Xi'an, Changsha, Jinan, Hangzhou, Shenyang, Harbin, Fuzhou, Nanjing and Shijiazhuang. China United Network Communications Corporation Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Company, will be responsible for the hybrid network trial. The LTE hybrid network trial will be conducive to better development of the Company's mobile broadband business. The Company will comply with the requirements imposed by MIIT and proactively plan and conduct the LTE hybrid network trial in order to provide its users with mobile broadband data services with a higher speed and better experience.
China United Network Communications Group Co., Ltd. and China United Network Communications Limited Enter into Capital Contribution Agreement to Establish China Unicom Finance Ltd JV Company

The Board announced that on 6 December 2013, China United Network Communications Group Co., Ltd. and China United Network Communications Limited entered into the Capital Contribution Agreement regarding the establishment of China Unicom Finance Ltd. JV Company for the purposes of providing various financial services to the group. Pursuant to the Capital Contribution Agreement, the registered capital of the JV Company will be RMB 3,000 million, and CUCL and Unicom Group agree to invest RMB 2,730 million and RMB 270 million in the JV company, which represent 91% and 9% of the total registered capital of the JV Company, respectively.
