TAP Being Eyed By Investors

Portugal's Economy Minister said his country is planning to sell off 49% stake of TAP-Transportes Aereos Portugueses, SGPS, S.A. by the end of 2014. Avianca Holdings S.A. (BVC:PFAVH), Air Europa Líneas Aéreas, S.A.U., Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras S.A have expressed interest in the sale. Delta Air Lines, Inc. (NYSE:DAL), Virgin Atlantic Ltd., Deutsche Lufthansa Aktiengesellschaft (DB:LHA) and International Consolidated Airlines Group, S.A. (LSE:IAG) have also been interested in TAP-Transportes Aereos Portugueses, SGPS, S.A. as per local press but none of them put forward proposals.

Azul Linhas Mulls IPO

Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras S.A may go public in December 2014 or January 2015. David Neeleman, Founder of Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras S.A said (referring to Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras S.A’s investors), "They’ve been in for six years, so that’s a long time for a private-equity investor. Regardless of the outcome of the election, we can go public."

Azul Brazilian Airlines Ordered Five Airbus A350-900 with Deliveries Beginning in Early 2017

Azul Brazilian Airlines expects to debut its first international flights by early 2015. The U.S. flights will be served from Azul's brand new $1.5 billion terminal at São Paulo/Campinas airport, strategically located 50 minutes from downtown Sao Paulo. The airline has ordered five Airbus A350-900 with deliveries beginning in early 2017. In addition, six Airbus A330-200 will be used to launch service in early 2015. The new aircraft will be leased from ILFC and will be equipped with Rolls-Royce engines. Azul's fleet currently comprises of 80 Embraer and 56 ATR aircraft.
