Advocate Health Care Selects PerfectServe as Enterprise-Wide Clinical Communications Standard
Feb 25 14
As part of its strategy to improve the coordination of care for its vast patient population, Advocate Health Care has selected PerfectServe, as the standard for streamlining and securing clinical communications across the organization. The larger integrated health system in Illinois, Advocate Health Care covers more than 250 care sites, including 12 hospitals that encompass 11 acute care hospitals, each of which faced unique clinical communications challenges. Advocate sought a comprehensive and flexible unified communications platform that would not only meet the needs of each individual facility, but also connect providers across the wide variety of care settings necessary for the success of the health system's clinical integration strategy. After successful implementations in several of the network's acute care hospitals, Advocate Health Care determined PerfectServe was the system that could most efficiently and effectively streamline and standardize its communication processes. Using rules-based technology, PerfectServe enables more reliable communications processes that make it easy for clinicians to connect with each other. PerfectServe is also being used to inform physicians of important clinical events occurring within its information systems so they can take timely and appropriate action. For example, primary care physicians are securely notified when their patient is discharged from the ED. And physicians ordering pathology results are securely receiving reports on the PerfectServe mobile app and are able to immediately notify the patient of the result. By reducing communication cycle times and easing clinicians' ability to connect with one another, PerfectServe solutions will also enable Advocate to continue to recruit and retain the higher quality primary care and specialty clinicians. The platform is proven to help improve physician satisfaction by connecting clinicians at the right time, via the best mode and with the exact information necessary to make critical care decisions.
Spectrum Health Selects PerfectServe to Streamline Clinical Communications Processes
Feb 3 14
Spectrum Health has selected PerfectServe as its system-wide standard to streamline clinical communications processes. With PerfectServe Clinician-to-Clinician and PerfectServe DocLink, Spectrum Health will enable more direct and secure physician-to-physician collaboration while speeding nurse-to-physician communication cycle times. Clinicians will have access to the industry's most comprehensive and solutions. Spectrum Health also wanted to create a pager-free environment for its clinical staff, since the organization viewed these as a one-way, static communication method. With PerfectServe, physicians and nurses are empowered with secure, two-way communications that enable them to connect with the right clinician at the right time via secure email, phone call, text message or voice message -- depending on each clinician's personal preferences and set communication rules. The platform also provides a way to track, document and escalate communications should a response not be received in a timely matter, enabling improvements in efficiency and care coordination.
PerfectServe, Inc. Introduces Clinical Event Push for PerfectServe Clinician-To-Clinician(TM)
Dec 5 13
PerfectServe, Inc. introduced Clinical Event Push to its PerfectServe Clinician-to-Clinician(TM) solution, which couples the power of its rules engine with data from the EMR and other clinical systems. PerfectServe Clinician-to-Clinician(TM) improves both patient outcomes and operational efficiencies by reducing hospital staff-to-physician communications process variability and shortening contact cycle times. Now equipped with Clinical Event Push, hospitals and health systems can connect the EMR, admit discharge transfer (ADT), lab, radiology and other clinical systems to the PerfectServe communications platform, allowing them to help clinicians become aware of important clinical events as they occur. These include: Informing primary care physicians of key patient flow events (i.e., when patients present in the emergency department, are admitted or discharged from the hospital); Informing specialists when new consult orders are entered via Computerize Physician Order Entry (CPOE); and Notifying physicians when new test results are available. With Clinical Event Push, PerfectServe introduces information systems as a new entry point in the communications process. In the past, clinicians themselves had to initiate all communication using the web, phone or mobile app. With Clinical Event Push, computer systems automatically initiate a communications transaction based upon event triggers and algorithms, without the need for human intervention. Advocate Health Care in Chicago, IL and St. John Hospital & Medical Center in Detroit, MI have already started deploying Clinical Event Push capabilities across their clinical staff in a variety of departments, including pathology and the emergency department.
