Luminate, Inc. announced that it will partner with Getty Images, the leading creator and distributor of digital media, to integrate Getty Images' original metadata into Luminate's image app platform. By incorporating Getty Images' metadata and ImageIRC(TM) technology into the image app, Luminate enables publishers to increase consumer interactivity with digital imagery elevating user engagement through visual content. Luminate will leverage Getty Images' industry-leading capabilities in identifying and cataloging millions of images with its powerful platform for image applications to power new products and initiatives. Luminate will integrate Getty images' metadata into its platform to transform millions of already published images into the most engaging element of a webpage. This partnership was born out of these brands' shared dedication to improve the engagement and value generation from imagery. Luminate has long employed a combination of algorithms and crowdsourcing to match content with images. By integrating Getty Images metadata into its image app platform, Luminate's offering becomes faster, more accurate and more comprehensive. For example, Luminate will incorporate Getty Images metadata into its popular Related Tweets image app that allows consumers to view recent tweets related to the information within the image. The inclusion of the metadata will enable the Related Tweets functionality in more images across Luminate's growing network of more than 5,000 publisher sites. Supplementing human crowdsourcing with metadata analysis will also deliver the application to consumers more rapidly.
Luminate, Inc. publicly debuted its unique Visual Targeting offering to help transform static images into robust branding experiences. L'Oreal's Garnier division is just one of several global brands that experienced a significant brand lift from Luminate-enabled Visual Targeting campaigns during the pilot period. Luminate has long employed a unique image recognition system that combines visual algorithms with human crowdsourcing. Now through the Visual Targeting offering, Luminate's human category experts identify visual cues relevant to brands -- markers that indicate a mood or lifestyle, categories of products, or even specific products that look similar to those in catalogues-- and this information is coded and embedded within images. As a result, marketers can dissect and target what's in an image at a remarkably granular level and serve highly relevant brand messages to the "right" consumer at the precise time of engagement. This novel approach allows for significant personalization of the message.
Luminate, Inc. and FOXSports.com announced a unique image app that provides consumers with instant access to player-related statistics and information by simply mousing over an image. This custom app will be deployed across FOXSports.com including NBA, MLB and NFL galleries. FOXSports.com visitors gain immediate benefit from a scrolling player stats app at the bottom of an image that is directly related to the player within the image. Those who want more information simply mouse over the image to expand a player card of detailed stats and the player's performance relative to others in the league. All of this takes place directly from an online image. By adding interactive image apps to previously one-dimensional static images, FOXSports.com's viewers engage with content that improves their user experience and increases time spent on their site. Additionally, Luminate's image app brings new life to all of FOXSports.com's photos regardless of when they were taken because relevant, up-to-date information is embedded in each picture. This new application was co-developed by Luminate and FOXSports.com through Luminate's custom image app program. Luminate works closely with publishers to enhance their content offerings by developing creative image capabilities that appeal to the needs of specific audiences while also aligning with a publisher's broader content strategy. The app will be added to the 15 plus other Luminate applications available from Luminate's Image App store.
