Hamburg Sud Group Opens New Office in Nanjing, China

Hamburg Sud Group has opened its new office in Nanjing, China. All tasks that were previously carried out by the Ben Line agency will in future be taken over by the new Hamburg Sud office. This includes daily operations, as well as Sales, Customer Order Management and container and Intermodal activities. The office will be headed by the General Manager, Steven Pu. Services to and from Nanjing will be operated using feeder ships from the ports of Shanghai and Ningbo. The new Nanjing office will be responsible for all Hamburg Sud operations in the Yangtze area, the ports of Chongqing and Wuhan, and also Lianyungang. Hamburg Sud operates at 20 locations in Greater China.

Hamburg Reportedly Looks To Expand Brazilian Port Operations

Hamburg Südamerikanische Dampfschifffahrts-Gesellschaft KG is looking to bid on Brazilian ports offered through government auctions to increase its port capacity in the country, newspaper Valor Econômico reported.

TUI Still Plans To Sell Stake In Hapag-Lloyd

TUI AG is still planning to sell its stake in Hapag-Lloyd Holding AG despite the announcements about Hapag-Lloyd's potential merger with Hamburg Südamerikanische Dampfschifffahrts-Gesellschaft KG (Hamburg Sued). TUI will consider the possibilities to merge with Hamburg Sued.Michael Frenzel, Chief Executive Officer of TUI said that its plans to exit from Hapag-Lloyd will not be changed by merger talks and it will make a decision about when it will divest its 22% stake in Hapag-Lloyd.
