Tele2 Sverige AB Reports Earnings Results for the First Quarter Ended March 31, 2012; Revised Earnings Guidance for the Full Year 2012

Tele2 Sverige AB reported earnings results for the first quarter ended March 31, 2012. For the period, the company reported net sales of SEK 3,074 million compared to SEK 3,070 million a year ago. EBITDA was SEK 774 million compared to SEK 840 million a year ago. EBIT was SEK 375 million compared to SEK 484 million for the same period a year ago. Capital expenditure was SEK 260 million compared to SEK 478 million a year ago. For the full year 2012, the company expects mobile service revenue to grow by approximately 3% to 5% compared to 2% to 4% in earlier and the company also expects EBITDA margin of between 30% to 32% compared to 33% to 35% in earlier, assuming a stable market environment.

Tele2 Sverige AB Wins License in the 1800 Mhz Auction in Sweden

Tele2 AB announced that Tele2 Sverige AB has been awarded a mobile license of 2x10 MHz in the 1,800 MHz frequency band through the network company Net4Mobility for approximately SEK 430 million. The frequencies will be used in the roll out of Sweden's most comprehensive 4G network primarily as capacity building in urban areas. The 4G network covers 2.5 million people, and the ambition is to cover 99% of the Swedish households by the end of 2012. With 4G Tele2's customers can surf at speeds up to 80 Mbit/s and the network is being expanded continuously over Sweden. The purchase price will be financed equally by Tele2 Sweden and Telenor Sweden. The license is valid for 25 years.
