Laing O'Rourke announced earnings results for the full year ended March 31, 2014. Managed revenue increased 0.5% to £4.41 billion compared to £4.39 billion a year ago. Reported managed revenue was adversely affected by weaker Australian dollar and at constant exchange rates managed revenue was up 5.2%. Profit after tax slightly up to £41.9 million compared to £41.1 million a year ago.

Laing O'Rourke has secured the £100 million construction contract for Voreda and Imperial College London's Imperial West Research and Translation Hub project in White City, London with a solution drawing heavily on its Design for Manufacture & Assembly capability and integrated in-house Group expertise. Voreda is partnering with Imperial College London to deliver the major research and translation centre - adding further critical infrastructure to support London as a location for world class research and commerce. The Research and Translation Hub project, valued at a total of £200 million, will form the centrepiece of the new Imperial West innovation district in White City, West London. The 48,000 sq m Hub will deliver world-class education, research and translation activities, and foster partnerships with global stakeholders from business, industry, higher education and the NHS.
Laing O'Rourke Gets Summer Start for £100 Million Olympic Job

Laing O'Rourke is set to start in summer on its £100 million job to transform the Olympic media centre into a new home of digital and creative businesses. Laing O'Rourke was appointed to £100 million job to transform the London Olympic press and broadcast centre into a tech hub last March, after seeing off competition from Mace and Carillion. The Here East scheme, formerly known as iCity, will include one million square feet of space, mostly aimed at digital businesses. The scheme has been designed by architect Hawkins/Brown for developer Here East. Here East and the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC) finalised the lease agreement for the buildings and said Laing O'Rourke would begin construction in August.
