Aston Martin Reportedly Eyes Lotus

Aston Martin Lagonda Limited and a company from China are reported to have indicated interest to acquire Lotus Group International Ltd. from DRB-HICOM Berhad."I assure you we are looking at it [Lotus] deeply and seriously ... I've visited the company twice," DRB-Hicom chairman Datuk Syed Mohamad Syed Murtaza said.

Volkswagen Denies Having Interest To Acquire Lotus

A spokesman for Volkswagen AG said that it has no interest to acquire Lotus Group International Ltd. DRB-HICOM Berhad said that a foreign company had submitted a takeover offer for Lotus. However it did not disclose any concrete names but local media reported that the company interested in Lotus may be Volkswagen.

Proton Denies Lotus Sale

Proton Holdings Bhd. has denied the rumors that it is seeking to sell Lotus Group International Ltd. "Lotus can provide value to Proton. Lotus is an iconic brand with a global presence and positioning, coupled with unsurpassed engineering expertise and a talented workforce," Proton's chairman Mohd Khamil Jamil insisted in a statement on May 28, 2012. "Both Proton and DRB-Hicom will continue to review the existing business plans and financial position of Lotus in taking Lotus forward in the immediate to medium term."
