Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. to begin receiving orders for its hybrid CR-Z sports coupe. Honda will start distributing the CR-Z in August. The CR-Z is the first hybrid vehicle model of Honda that is available in the Philippines. Other hybrid models of Honda, like the hybrid Civic, is sold in Japan and the United States. CR-Z, which stands for compact renaissance zero, uses a 1.5-liter VTEC engine with an electric motor. It will have two transmissions, the manual transmission and the Continuously Variable transmission. Aside from the standard model, Honda will also offer the new CR-Z- Modulo. Modulo is Honda's genuine accessory brand, which is developed in parallel with Honda's new car development. Honda will also offer a CR-Z MUGEN model, which will be equipped not only with aero kits but also with exhaust system and alloy wheels. MUGEN is well-known worldwide as an engine tuner and parts manufacturer. It develops, manufactures, and sells accessories and tuning parts exclusively for Honda automobiles and motorcycles. The CR-Z will sell from PHP 1.4 million to PHP 2.1 million.

Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. reported sales results for the first seven months ended July 2011. For the period, the company reported sales of 7,992 units.
