SmartTrust AB announced that Sagem Orga has introduced the first SIM cards with SmartTrust WIB(TM) 2.0 in an effort to support a platform for emerging and next-generation Dynamic SIM Toolkit (DSTK) services. WIB 2.0 helps to create an environment that enables service providers to offer the latest services and innovative offerings by delivering a more complete analysis of subscriber behavior. By uniquely using USSD and BIP, the WIB 2.0 platform helps to reduce service response times and allow for higher-speed and more frequent service updates ultimately leading to an improved customer experience. This approach also eliminates some basic limitations encountered when designing DSTK Value Added Service applications by ultimately delivering services with more content that can in turn generate additional profits. The use of cellular broadcast technology with WIB 2.0 provides wireless operators with the information needed to introduce efficient and attractive mobile marketing campaigns as operators look to differentiate themselves from competitors as well as increase average revenue per user.

Sagem Orga Opens New Branch in Mexico

Sagem Orga has opened a new branch in Mexico. The new division will be run by Sagem's Brazil unit, and will primarily serve the firm's banking and telecommunications clients in Latin America. The firm decided to open the new office as part of its regional expansion plans. The firm is eyeing the Latin American telecommunications and banking sectors for growth opportunities, particularly as institutions switch to smart cards for increased data security.

Viaccess Partners with Four Companies to Launch Ready-to-Deploy Mobile Broadcast TV Access Solution

Viaccess announced that it has partnered with LG Electronics Inc. Enensys, Expway S.A. and Sagem Orga GmbH to secure access to mobile broadcast TV based on the OMA BCAST SmartCard Profile Standard. The initiative by the five companies is intended to provide customers and operators with a production ready end to end environment. The full scope system, available for trials and production deployments, includes optimised capacities inherited from each of the partners' exclusive features. Viaccess's Conditional Access System, dedicated to OMA Bcast Smartcard profile standard, provides enhanced security and renewability and reduces SIM management costs for Mobile Operators.
