Bytemobile, Inc. Announces Availability of Two New Products to Expand its T-Series Adaptive Traffic Management System
Apr 18 12
Bytemobile, Inc. announced the availability of two new products to expand its T-Series Adaptive Traffic Management System for 3G and 4G networks. Integrated with Bytemobile's two platforms -- the Unison(TM) Platform and the T3100 Adaptive Traffic Manager -- the T1100 Traffic Director and the T2100 Content Accelerator provide operators with a seamless single-vendor solution for processing video and web traffic to deliver increased network efficiency and the best possible user experience under all network conditions. The widespread use of smartphones, tablets and other sophisticated mobile devices -- coupled with accelerating consumption of rich multimedia applications such as streaming video, live TV, social media, and instant video chat -- is driving operators' evolution to LTE and other 4G network architectures for delivering mobile data services. Bytemobile's latest Mobile Analytics Report indicates that a tablet already generates three times the data volume generated by a comparable smartphone. With next-generation technology, including faster networks and larger devices supporting higher-resolution videos, the data generated from a single YouTube clip could increase by five times. Managing network capacity has become not only the single most important business challenge for operators, but also the single opportunity to monetize subscriber data traffic for increasing revenue growth and profitability. The T1100 Traffic Director is designed to deliver the intelligence and performance required to scale next-generation networks and applications. It enables operators to efficiently and cost-effectively manage explosive growth in data traffic while delivering a high-quality subscriber experience. The T1100 is a highly flexible application delivery controller -- powered by Citrix NetScaler(R) and custom-built for deployment with Bytemobile's Smart Capacity platforms. As such, it provides a seamless exchange of information to intelligently distribute traffic load at all times, resulting in higher availability, greater throughput and simplified operational management. The T1100 also features advanced Citrix NetScaler TriScale(TM) technology, including new clustering capabilities that enable multiple appliances to work as a single system so overall network capacity can easily scale from just megabits/sec to terabits/sec. TriScale clustering complements the NetScaler Pay-As-You-Grow elasticity offered by the T1100, enabling operators to increase performance on-demand up to 5x to quickly meet changing traffic requirements within the mobile packet core -- without having to provision new hardware. The T2100 Content Accelerator is an intelligent caching appliance architected to provide the high level of bandwidth management for today's mobile broadband networks, while delivering the best possible multimedia experience to subscribers. Because of its seamless integration with Bytemobile's two Smart Capacity platforms, operators can add the T2100 to existing traffic management deployments and immediately begin accelerating the multimedia experience by bringing streaming video and audio closer to the subscriber.
Openet and Bytemobile, Inc. Partner for Smarter, More Personalized Quality of Experience
Feb 27 12
Openet Telecom Limited and Bytemobile, Inc. announced a partnership designed to deliver smarter traffic management and personalized quality of experience (QoE) for carriers and their customers. Openet's Policy Manager and Bytemobile's Smart Capacity platforms will work together to analyze and control traffic while creating and enforcing policies for individual users. As media and web applications become more advanced, the volume of network traffic grows substantially, leading to potentially inconsistent QoE and missed revenue opportunities for carriers. With Openet's policy management expertise and Bytemobile's core competency in network capacity management, carriers will be able to adapt and optimize traffic, recognize and prioritize video content, and have the capability to collect deep user insights that result in more value-added and personalized services. Sample use cases for the Openet-Bytemobile collaboration include: Management of traffic-intensive applications by differentiating and personalizing data services; delivering the appropriate level of video quality to roaming users for specific services to prevent bill shock; Quality-differentiated service plans by subscriber, content and content provider; intelligent device- and content-type enforcement based on subscriber.
