Lincoln Institute of Land Policy Announces Executive Changes, Effective July 1, 2014

George W. McCarthy, an economist at the Ford Foundation dedicated to improving conditions in metropolitan areas worldwide, has been named the 5th president of the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy. Beginning July 1, 2014, McCarthy, 57, will succeed Gregory K. Ingram, who is retiring after serving as president since 2005. As director of Metropolitan Opportunity at the Ford Foundation, McCarthy has supported collaborative regional efforts to overcome the social, economic and spatial isolation of disadvantaged populations living in and around metropolitan areas worldwide. Before becoming director in 2008, he administered a Ford Foundation program that focused on using homeownership to build wealth for low-income families and their communities.

Gregory K. Ingram to Leave Lincoln Institute of Land Policy as President and Chief Executive

Gregory K. Ingram, president and chief executive of the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy since 2005, announced his plans to leave the position next summer. Ingram, an economist, was Director General of Evaluation at the World Bank before coming to the Lincoln Institute in 2005.

Lincoln Institute of Land Policy Announces Director Changes

Zhi Liu was named director of the China program at the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy and of the Peking University Lincoln Institute Center for Urban Development and Land Policy in Beijing, China. Liu has been with the World Bank for 18 years, with operational experience in East Asia, South Asia, and Latin America, where he managed economic sector studies and investment lending projects in the infrastructure and urban sectors. Liu succeeds Joyce Man, who served as director of the China program and as director of Center for Urban Development and Land Policy since its founding. Man, who is returning to her position at Indiana University, will continue to be a fellow at the Lincoln Institute.
