Nexenta Announces New Updates to its NexentaConnect and NexentaStor Solutions

Nexenta announced new updates to its NexentaConnect and NexentaStor solutions. The latest addition to the NexentaConnect family, NexentaConnect for VMware(R) Virtual SAN(TM), adds full-featured SMB and NFS file services to VMware's Virtual SAN offering. NexentaConnect for VMware Horizon is also updated and improves upon the automation and acceleration for VMware Horizon(R) Virtual Desktop Infrastructures (VDI). NexentaStor release 4.1 now supports a performance optimized 'all flash mode' for low latency all flash reference architectures, VAAI integration and VMware vCenter(TM) Management Plug-in. These solutions will be revealed and demonstrated for the first time at VMworld 2014 US, August 24-28 in San Francisco. NexentaConnect for VMware Virtual SAN integrates with and augments VMware Virtual SAN by adding enterprise-class Windows and UNIX based file services without the need for any additional hardware purchases. NexentaConnect for Virtual SAN completes hyper-converged Virtual SAN deployments by utilizing local Virtual SAN storage in servers to deliver high performance NFS and SMB file services to Virtual Machines and Virtual Desktops, all managed through a single vCenter console. Nexenta announced the launch of NexentaEdge 1.0 - the industry's first software-only scale out block and object storage solution designed to deliver high performance global inline deduplication on petabyte scale clusters. NexentaEdge is ideally suited for next-generation open source cloud infrastructures and Big Data repositories requiring performance, scale and low total cost of ownership.

BlueBolt Selects Nexenta's Software-Defined Storage to Manage its Growing Storage Needs

Nexenta has announced it has been chosen by BlueBolt to manage its growing enterprise storage needs. An adaptive storage solution that can manage the growing workload of BlueBolt's creative and technical staff is imperative to keep up with the evolving demands in the industry. As with any business where data is mission critical to its operations, it is vital that BlueBolt can rely on its storage solution to deliver high-performance. It must also have the ability to grow with the demands of the company, whilst remaining cost effective. Working with Escape Technologies, BlueBolt selected Nexenta's SDS solution to centralize and manage its storage infrastructure and replace the various storage platforms it had in place. Collaborating with its technology partner, Dell, to provide the hardware, and utilizing the open-source ZFS-based operating system, BlueBolt implemented a two node HA Cluster with 144TB of raw NexentaStor capacity, which provides 68TB useable capacity.
