Telecom Italia S.p.A. (BIT:TIT) is not seeking the sale of Tim Brasil Serviços e Participações S.A. Marco Patuano, Chief Executive Officer of Telecom Italia said that Tim Brasil is priority for Telecom Italia. Marco Patuano also denied the possible merger between Tim Brasil and Global Village Telecom (Holding) S.A."Tim Brasil is a great company for mobile telephony. GVT is great for fixed telephony. Those are complementary businesses, but there are no negotiations to this end," he added.

GVT announced unaudited earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended September 30, 2013. For the quarter, the company reported revenue of EUR 413 million compared to EUR 429 million a year ago. EBITA was EUR 102 million compared to EUR 118 million a year ago.
For the nine months, the company reported revenue of EUR 1,297 million compared to EUR 1,282 million a year ago. EBITA was EUR 298 million compared to EUR 341 million a year ago, due to increased depreciation expenses related to the development in pay- TV. Performance of revenue was achieved despite the slowdown in the Brazilian economy and the social protests that took place in most of the country's large cities in June. EBITDA reached EUR 531 million, a 14.0% increase at constant currency (+0.6% at actual currency) compared to the first nine months of 2012, and its EBITDA margin remained strong at 40.9%.

EchoStar Technologies L.L.C. has entered into a joint venture with Global Village Telecom (Holding) S.A. to provide Pay-TV services in Brazil. Global Village Telecom (Holding) is a Brazil-based provider of facilities-based telecommunications and Internet services. The joint venture would be headquartered in Brazil, managed by GVT, and would benefit from GVTÂ´s market position and IP network combined with EchoStarÂ´s expertise in satellite and video technology and its Brazilian licenses.
