Vodafone Launches 3G Services, Tariff Plans in Odisha Circle

Vodafone India has launched 3G roaming services for postpaid and prepay customer in the Odisha circle. The company has also launched various service packages for customers in Odisha. The newly introduced postpaid plans are available for a starting price of INR 150 per month for 50MB, up to INR 850 per month for 5GB of data traffic. Prepay plans start at INR 27 for 90 MB of data with a validity of three days. As a special service launch offer, Vodafone prepay customers will receive a 40% discount on their subscription to data plans for a period of ten days. Customers in Odisha can also sign up to a 1-day internet trial pack for INR 8.
Bharti Mulls To Acquire Towers Of Idea And Vodafone

Bharti Infratel Limited (BSE:534816) has approached Idea Cellular Ltd. (BSE:532822); Vodafone India Limited to buy their mobile towers in seven out of 22 telecom circles in the country, a top official of the company said. "I have made it very clear to Vodafone and Idea Cellular that we are interested in buying their towers in seven circles where Bharti Infratel is sole operator and Indus doesn't operate, "Akhil Gupta, Executive Chairman of Bharti said on sidelines of an event here. "We are waiting for them to come back. If at all they are ready we will be certainly pursuing the matter," Gupta added.

Vodafone India Limited reported earnings results for the second quarter and six months ended September 30, 2014. For the six months, the company reported 11.7% increase in its revenue at INR 207,469.00 million on the back of data revenues, customer additions and stable pricing. The company had posted revenues of INR 185,711.00 million in the same period last fiscal. The company posted a 29.5% increase in its EBITDA at INR 61,251.0 million led by higher data revenue and scale benefits. The operating free cash flow of the company stood at INR 8,337.0 million against INR 48,917.00 million during the previous year due to an exceptional financial settlement with Indus and higher capital expenditure. Capex rose over the same period to GBP 348 million from GBP 117 million.
The company improved organic service revenue growth to 13.2% in the second quarter to September, from 10.3% in the previous three months. Total service revenue in India reached GBP 1.021 billion, up from GBP 947 million a year ago.
