Senior academician Vishwas Bhaskar Gaikwad will be the new director of the board of college and university development (BCUD) at the University of Pune (UoP). He replaces Wasudev N. Gade, who was recently appointed vice-chancellor of the UoP. At present, Gaikwad is principal of the Maratha Vidya Prasarak Samaj's KTHM College in Nashik. He is a senior member of the UoP's management and academic councils and a former dean of faculty of science. He has served on various BCUD sub-committees in the last six years.
