University of Baltimore Announces Management Changes

The University of Baltimore named former mayor Kurt L. Schmoke its next president, marking the return of a pivotal figure in the city's political history and someone boosters hope will strengthen the institution and its neighborhood. Robert L. Bogomolny, who announced last fall he would retire as president at the end of the academic year. Schmoke will take over the job in July. Schmoke returned to a private law practice after serving as mayor before joining Howard University in 2003. He currently serves as interim provost and general counsel at Howard.
University of Baltimore and Institute of Real Estate Management Collaborate to Advance Real Estate Profession

The University of Baltimore's undergraduate program in real estate and economic development and specializing in preparing students for careers in real estate investment, property appraisal, management, commercial lending, and a host of other in-demand jobs in the real estate profession-will collaborate with the Institute of Real Estate Management to advance the profession and encourage interest in it through educational and professional development opportunities. A memorandum of understanding has been approved by the University and the institute, and plans are underway to develop and offer dedicated programming, events and so on. University of Baltimore will utilize the institute's textbooks and resource materials in its teaching in the program. Institute Of Real Estate Management will recognize the University of Baltimore's Bachelor of Science in Real Estate and Economic Development degree as one that fulfills the specified educational requirements for the institute's Certified Property Manager designation.
University of Baltimore Announces Retirement of Robert Bogomolny as President

University of Baltimore President Robert Bogomolny announced to students, faculty, staff and alumni that he will retire effective August 2014.
Bogomolny has served as UB's president since August 2002. During his tenure, the University experienced considerable growth in terms of enrollment, academic programs, fundraising and campus infrastructure.
