Orange France Adds H+ Service Plan of its Sosh Mobile Brand

Orange France added H+ service to the EUR 19.99 a month plan of its online-only mobile brand, Sosh, to keep up with H+ subscriptions of competitors. Rivals Free Mobile, Virgin Mobile France, SFR's Red and Numericable are already offering LTE for under EUR 20 a month, but not at Sosh. Separately, the Orange youth brand will also lose its Cineday two-for-one cinema ticket deal from 3 April, 2014. It will sharpen its focus on core operations of offer high-quality service at low prices.

Orange France announced earnings results for the fourth quarter of 2013. The company's revenue declined 7% to EUR 4.95 billion in the fourth quarter of 2013, compared with the year-earlier period, with mobile services down 12.1% to EUR 1.98 billion, reflecting the growing impact of cheaper segmented offers, and fixed services down 3.4% to EUR 2.65 billion. The group's restated EBITDA declined by 7.9% to EUR 608 million in the quarter, as cost savings offset more than half of the downturn in revenue. Capex grew by 4.5% to EUR 2.83 billion due to significant investments in LTE, with over 4,200 deployed at the end of 2013.
Orange, SFR Sign Fibre Deals in Marne-La-Vallee

Orange France has signed a contract with the OPH of Bonneuil-sur-Marne to connect all 2,350 social housing flats in the town to fibre. After this first phase, the operator will roll out fibre to all 4,250 households in the city by the end of 2015. Orange has already connected nearly a third of the homes in Vincennes, Kremlin-Bicetre, Nogent-sur-Marne and Alfortville. Competitor SFR is present in many places in Val-de-Marne county, including Nogent-sur-Marne, Villeneuve-le-Rois and Thiais, DSL Valley writes. As these are areas of high population density, more than one operator can be laying fibre in the same towns. SFR has just signed a contract with the county to roll out fibre in Plateau Briard. Numericable is also present in various parts of the county.
