Line 6, Inc. Key Developments
Line 6, Inc. and Jammit, Inc. have partnered to create the ultimate guitar learning, jamming and recording experience for iPhone and iPad. The companies have collaborated to create a system that allows the guitarist's sound to instantly match that of the guitar part played on the original song. By integrating the Jammit software with artist sounds and a premium digital interface, the experience of playing with the original master recordings is taken to a nearly magical level for players of all abilities and styles. Jammit is the first music software to isolate individual audio tracks within original multi-track master recordings. Jammit allows musicians to learn, jam and record along with their favorite songs as played by artists including Rush, Maroon 5, Bullet For My Valentine, OneRepublic, and many others. Each guitar, bass, drums, keyboard or vocal track can be isolated for closer scrutiny, looped for extended practice or slowed down to a comfortable pace for beginning players. The Line 6 Mobile In digital interface connects a guitar to the iPad or iPhone, and also unlocks added functionality within the Jammit app. When Mobile In is connected, Jammit will load amp and effect sounds custom matched to the song, automatically changing the sound when appropriate as the song plays.
Line 6, Inc. announced the release of Mobile Keys 25 and Mobile Keys 49, a pair of new, lightweight, ultraportable keyboards designed to control iOS music apps that do double duty as USB MIDI controllers for Mac(R) and Windows(R). Each have full-size keys and solid keyboard action. The keys are velocity sensitive, allowing them to accurately interpret the nuances and subtleties of a keyboardist's playing. Both models are compatible with any iOS app that supports the CoreMIDI standard input, including Apple GarageBand(R) and numerous drum machines, synthesizers, and virtual instruments. With Mobile Keys 25 and 49, not only do have two extremely portable options for playing and recording on the go with iPhone and iPad music apps. The keyboards require no additional hardware--they plug right into an iOS device's dock connector. They're bus powered, so they need no external power supply. The keyboards are equipped with pitch bend and modulation wheels for additional sonic control, and have 1/4-inch TRS jacks for plugging in sustain and expression pedals. Both keyboards have USB jacks and are USB class-compliant, allowing seamless connection with Mac and Windows desktops and laptops. Suggested retail price for Mobile Keys 25 is $149.99, Mobile Keys 49 is $199.99, and both are shipping early 2012.
