Executives of McLaren Health Care and Port Huron Hospital have finalized an agreement effective May 1, 2014, for Port Huron Hospital to become the 12th hospital in the not-for-profit McLaren Health Care system. The hospital will be renamed McLaren Port Huron. The agreement paves the way for immediate expanded health services in the Port Huron area, including a new cancer center, facility improvements, and upgraded technology and equipment. Capital funding for the construction of a new cancer center and a new inpatient tower is part of the agreement. The hospital expects to break ground for the cancer center early in 2015 with construction of the inpatient tower beginning later in 2015.
McLaren Health Care Promotes Mark O'Halla to Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer

Mark O'Halla has been promoted to executive vice president/chief operating officer of McLaren Health Care from president and CEO of McLaren Macomb. In his new role, O'Halla will oversee all hospital and related subsidiary operations across the organization, including McLaren Medical Group, the employed physician network. He will work to establish systemwide goals with regard to quality outcomes, patient experience initiatives and financial performance. Additionally, he will develop and implement plans and policies in collaboration with McLaren leadership and serve as a liaison between McLaren Health Care and various community, public and governmental organizations. O'Halla brings nearly 30 years of health care experience to his new role. Before working at McLaren Macomb, O'Halla served as CEO at St. Mary's Hospital.
Elekta Announces Strategic Partnership with McLaren Health Care to Improve Cancer Care in Michigan

Elekta announced that it has joined forces with McLaren Health Care to launch MOSAIQ® oncology information system throughout McLaren's cancer network. This partnership will enable McLaren to deploy MOSAIQ to centralize patient information across radiation oncology, particle therapy and medical oncology into a single user interface, accessible by multi-disciplinary teams across McLaren's multiple locations.
