Patty Cahill, who recently retired as general manager of the National Public Radio affiliate in Kansas City, on Tuesday was named chairman of the Corporation For Public Broadcasting. Cahill was appointed to the organization's board in 2009, and has served over the past year as vice chairman. Cahill, who will serve as chairman for one year, succeeds Bruce Ramer. Currently Cahill is an assistant professor of communications studies at UMKC.
Corporation For Public Broadcasting elected board member Patricia Deal Cahill to vice chair at its meeting on Sept. 20, 2011. In tandem with this appointment, Cahill announces her intent to retire from her post as general manager of KCUR 89.3 FM, effective June 30, 2012.
