Yves Saint Laurent SAS and Al Tayer Insignia LLC Announces Joint Venture

Yves Saint Laurent SAS announced its direct entry into the UAE through a joint venture with Al Tayer Insignia LLC. The joint venture will be headquartered in Dubai. Since its entry into the UAE in 2003 through a multi-year franchise relationship with Al Tayer Insignia, Saint Laurent has expanded its presence to five points of sale in the country. With stand-alone stores in Marina Mall, Abu Dhabi, and Mall of the Emirates in Dubai, the brand also has a presence in Harvey Nichols - Dubai and Bloomingdale's - Dubai with corners in these two department stores, and a shop-in-shop within Level Shoe District at The Dubai Mall. The joint venture will also open a Abu Dhabi store at Sowwah Square during 2013.

Christian Louboutin Announces No Further Claims Against Yves Saint Laurent

A Manhattan federal court judge confirmed that the Christian Louboutin, known for its trademark red soles has no further claims against Yves Saint Laurent over its red monochrome shoes, emphasis on red, meaning red shoes with red soles. In September, a New York federal appeals court backed the validity of Christian Louboutin's red-sole trademark but said it only applied to red-soled shoes with contrasting uppers. Therefore, Yves Saint Laurent's red shoes with red soles were safe. The court's order ends the litigation between the two parties.
