Getronics N.V. Key Developments

Getronics Appoints Mark Cook as Group CEO

Getronics announced the appointment of Mark Cook to the role of Group Chief Executive Officer. Cook, who previously held the roles of UK & Ireland CEO and Group Managing Director, will be charged with building on the organisation's strong workspace heritage as it continues to deliver custom IT tailored to resolving the specific business challenges of customers. Cook brings over 30 years of IT experience to the role. He has been instrumental in expanding Getronics' portfolio to meet customer demand for smarter workspace solutions.

Getronics NV Snaps Up GBP 10 Million Contract Extension from Bid Shopping

Getronics NV announced that Bid Shopping has agreed a GBP 10 million extension of its contract. The contract covers a number of business critical services for Bid Shopping, including hosting all of its key back office operations at the Getronics data centre in Cheshire. Due to the live nature of its programming, the station's revenue streams are intrinsically linked to its live shows and retail operation and as such, downtime of its IT infrastructure is not an option. The extension of Bid Shopping's existing agreement with Getronics will give the organization the confidence that its IT infrastructure will continue to be available 24/7. The agreement will also see Getronics staff and Bid Shopping's own IT services department working seamlessly together as one unit with unified management. The Getronics data centre offers customers a high-tech, high-spec alternative to hosting their own IT services and can remove a number of resource and data management headaches. This includes significantly reducing the number of high-priority calls that Getronics responds to on a day-to-day basis. As a result the Getronics team can focus on other areas of the businesses, and constantly improve efficiency.
