Maryland Institute College of Art Announces Executive Changes

The Maryland Institute College of Art has named Samuel Hoi as its next president. Hoi is currently president of Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles. He will begin the role at MICA on July 1, replacing Fred Lazarus IV who will retire after a 36-year tenure. Prior to joining Otis, Hoi was dean at Corcoran College of Art + Design in Washington, D.C., and director of the Parsons School of Design's Paris campus.

Fred Lazarus IV to Retire as President of MICA, Effective May 2014

MICA President Fred Lazarus IV announced that he will retire after nearly 35 years of service and leadership, effective at the close of the 2013-2014 academic year in May 2014.
