Mitsubishi Plastics to Build Polyolefin-Based Film Unit in Indonesia

Mitsubishi Plastics plans to build a new plant producing 240m sqm/year of polyolefin-based film in Merak, Indonesia due to expected increase in demand. The plant, Mitsubishi Plastics first-ever production facility of the film in Indonesia, will be built at the production site of MC PET Film Indonesia, the company's subsidiary. Commercial operation is expected to start in the first half of 2015. Mitsubishi Plastics plans to invest JPY 1.5 billion for the plant, it added. The film, called KTF, which permeates moisture but blocks water, is mainly used as back sheets for hygienic materials such as paper diapers. Mitsubishi Plastics is considering further capacity expansions of the film because demand is expected to skyrocket in Asia.
Mitsubishi Plastics to Build JPY 2 Billion Production Line in Wuxi, China

Mitsubishi Plastics plans to build JPY 2 billion ($19 million) production line for the coating of polyester films at Wuxi in China's Jiangsu province.
The facility is expected to come on stream in April 2015, the company said in a statement, without disclosing capacity details. The company has set up a new company called Mitsubishi Plastics Converting Film Wuxi Co (MPFW) for the project. The new plant is expected to cater to growing demand for liquid crystal display (LCD) television in China.
Mitsubishi Plastics, Inc. to Build New Line for Co-Extruded Film

Mitsubishi Plastics, Inc. plans to build a new line to produce Diamiron, a multilayer co-extruded film, at its Asai plant in Shiga prefecture for JPY 1.4 billion. The facility is expected to start commercial production in October 2014.
