Keurig Green Mountain, Inc. and Peet's Coffee & Tea announced a multi-year manufacturing and distribution agreement for Peet's-branded packs for the Keurig(R) brewing system. Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed. The companies plan to launch a selection of Keurig(R) licensed Peet's coffee and tea varieties in K-Cup(R) packs for Keurig(R) brewers produced by Keurig by the end of the summer. Peet's will continue to hand roast the beans for its Peet's K-Cup(R) packs at its LEED-Gold certified roasting facility in Alameda, Calif. and the roasted beans will be transported to Keurig for grinding and packaging in K-Cup(R) packs.

Peet's Coffee & Tea announced its brand new, fresh food items now available in 126 Northern California stores, including the Bay Area, Sacramento, Monterey, Santa Cruz and Capitola. These fresh food items are locally made and delivered fresh every day to Peet's stores. The Herb Roasted Turkey Sandwich is made with turkey that is slow cooked for 8-10 hours and complemented with Monterey jack cheese and a homemade pumpkin seed pesto aioli. The new menu includes: Herb Roasted Turkey Sandwich ($6.95): made with turkey that is slow cooked and complemented with Monterey jack cheese and a homemade pumpkin seed pesto aioli; Applewood Smoked Ham Sandwich ($6.95): Aromatic applewood smoked ham, Swiss cheese and homemade roasted garlic aioli; Super Greens & Kale Salad ($6.95): a healthy assortment of kale, greens and fresh Greek feta paired with fig balsamic vinaigrette; Black Lentil Salad ($4.95): fresh black beluga lentils, sweet Greek feta with a tangy red wine vinaigrette; Quinoa Salad ($4.95): a delicious combination of rainbow quinoa, chickpeas, roasted red peppers and herb vinaigrette; Fruit Bowl ($4.95): an assortment of fresh, seasonal fruit with an emphasis on berries; Cheese and Fruit Box ($5.95): Aged Dubliner Irish cheddar, Monterey pepper jack and Danish brie with crisp apples, roasted almonds and organic rice crackers; Hummus & Carrots ($2.95): Flavorful house made hummus with fresh carrot chips.

Peet's Coffee & Tea announced its new store in San Francisco's Marina District at 2080 Chestnut Street, complete with a distinctive design unlike any other Peet's store in the U.S. The new takes Peet's store experience to a higher standard of quality, similar to the way Peet's crafts its premium coffee, with a fresh, contemporary design in a local, historic space true to its Northern California heritage. The store officially opens on January 28, 2014. Key design features of Peet's store include: Fresh, Contemporary Design in Local, Sustainable Space: Located in a historic, art deco building over 80 years old, the store is locally connected to the history and community of the Marina neighborhood. The building's original fir ceiling, concrete walls, walnut floors, and recycled steel beams have been restored to maintain its classic California features updated with a fresh, contemporary design. Finely crafted oak cabinets, marble counters, and "steam punk" lighting fixtures all contribute to the classic and contemporary store design. Sustainable building systems like LED lighting, new efficient heating and cooling systems, and water reduction equipment have been incorporated to keep the store energy efficient. Plus, previous bowling alley lanes have been repurposed as community tables. A "living wall" of plants captures the Marina neighborhood's healthy outdoor lifestyle. Open, Approachable Barista Bar: Placed as a central focal point in the store, the barista bar showcases Peet's coffee-making artistry in motion and the passion that is placed into creating handcrafted beverages. The bar is designed as a showcase to Peet's coffee craft, providing fans a 360-degree visual experience of the beverage making process.
