It also offers integrated circuits for use in mobile phones and other wireless data and voice communications products, enterprise and networking applications, storage area networks, Ethernet networks, and telecommunications applications, modem products, computer printing and imaging applications, and satellite digital radio receivers. The Telecommunications segment offers solutions for wireless and wireline access; multiservice communications networks, such as integrated circuits; software and reference designs that facilitate the transmission and traffic management of voice, video, and data signals within communications networks; and integrated circuits supporting SONET/SDH communication standards, broadband aggregation devices, network processing and traffic management devices, and digital signal processing devices. The company serves the manufacturers of hard disk drives; mobile phones; high speed communications systems. The company was formerly known as Lucent ME Corp. and changed its name to Agere Systems Inc. in December 2000. The company was incorporated in 2000 and is based in Allentown, Pennsylvania. As of April 2, 2007, Agere Systems Inc. operates as a subsidiary of LSI Corporation.
